Special Interest Groups
Special Interest Groups help members connect on a more personal level and tend to be rewarding and fulfilling. Form a group comprised of members sharing a common interest (Book Club, Mommy ‘n Me, Sister Mixers) with the intention of having this group create a bond with one another as well as the alumnae group. Interest Groups should have a chairman to be a liaison between the SIG and the alumnae chapter or association.
A Special Interest Group (SIG) is a subgroup formed by individuals who share a common passion, hobby, or focus. These groups foster camaraderie, skill-building, and networking among like-minded members. Examples include book clubs where members discuss literature, hiking groups organizing outdoor adventures, and moms' groups providing support and advice on parenting. These groups enhance the group experience by promoting diverse interests and strengthening community bonds among members.
Examples include:
- Book Club
- Hiking
- Lunch Bunch
- DG Moms
- New Alums
- Networking
